China Railways looking for more projects

Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, has said that the CPEC Phase-II will bring tangible benefits for the people and further the China – Pakistan strong partnership towards the development of the whole region.

“China continues to play a vital role in Pakistan’s economic growth and infrastructure development, while the Government is fully committed to promoting foreign investment through investor-friendly policies,” he said.

The minister expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation from China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation (CR20G), led by Mr. Xin Han, Director for Asia and Oceania Region.

The company has expressed interest in infrastructure projects of the country.

Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed that China is Pakistan’s longstanding and trusted partner, which has always played a crucial role in the country’s development journey.

He added that the Government of Pakistan has made the business environment easier, more transparent, and more attractive to encourage greater foreign investment.

The Minister further stated that CPEC Phase-II projects are directly focused on public welfare, as they will create employment opportunities, enhance regional connectivity, and strengthen Pakistan’s overall economy.

The meeting discussed in detail the prospects of collaboration and investment in various infrastructure projects across Pakistan.

Both sides also discussed partnership opportunities in projects of national importance, including the construction of the Sukkur–Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) and the up-gradation of the Rohri–Karachi Railway Section.

China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation provides infrastructure construction services, in China and abroad, the Company builds railway, highway, bridges, tunnels, subway stations, roadways, and related projects as well as other businesses. Shoaib Ahmed, Chief Representative of CR20G in Pakistan, highlighted that the company successfully completed the Lahore–Multan Motorway (M-3) project between 2016 and 2018 within just two years, setting a remarkable example in terms of both quality and speed.
