The crew of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) tanker attacked by Israeli drone in Yemen is safe and out of Yemeni waters.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has shared the details at his X account that an LPG tanker carrying 27 crew members including 24 Pakistanis and the Captain Mukhtar Akbar was attacked by the Israeli forces through a drone.
The Israeli drone attack was in violation of the international laws as a result one LPG tank exploded, however the crew successfully extinguished the fire.
The nationalities of other crew members are — 2 Sri Lankans and 1 Nepali.The LPG tanker was docked at Ras al-Eisa port in Yemen and on 17 September 2025.
it was attacked by the Israeli forces.Later the vessel was intercepted by Houthi boats and the crew were held on board for investigations.
The interior minister lauded the efforts of the Secretary Interior Khurram Agha and other Ministry of Interior officers, Ambassador Naveed Bokhari and his team in Oman, as well as the officials based in Saudi Arabia, helped secure the release of the detained vessel and its crew.“I thank the officials of our security agencies who worked day and night under extraordinary conditions to secure the safe release of our citizens when hope was fading,” the interior minister said.
He added that the tanker and its crew have now been released by the Houthis and are out of Yemeni waters.
