TLP isolated at religious front too

The Barelvi groups have decided not to back TLP in political affairs, and in return the sealed mosques in Islamabad have been handed to the original management.

An initial agreement has been reached between the federal government and a group of religo- political parties under the banner of Tanzeemat Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan.

As a result, all mosques sealed in the federal capital have been released.The agreement reached in Islamabad was reached between second tier leadership of Tanzeemat with security officials.

Tanzeemat has agreed not to extend any support to the TLP.While, Tanzeemat comprise of almost all the groups and political parties belonging to the Barelvi school of thought, but the TLP is not part of it.

The delegation, led by Dr. Muhammad Amin Qadri,of Manki Sharif and it included Dr Abdul Khair Zubair, Pir Abdul Khaliq Qadri, Mir Asif Akbar and Mufti Karim Khan.According to the settlement it has been decided to resolve matters through dialogue and mutual consultation.

In the meantime Tanzeemat has decided to postpone its planned protest march towards Islamabad following the government’s assurance of addressing its key demands.

The government and Tanzeemat Ahl-e-Sunnat also agreed to uphold peace and stability in the country, from a joint coordination committee, to monitor the implementation of the decisions made during the talks.

The decision included de-sealing of all the mosques in the country, as well as all religious seminaries register with the Directorate of Religious Education.Senior member, Tanzeemat, Mufti Gulzar Naeemi and Amir Jamaat Ahle Haram, said that after negotiations with the administration all sealed mosques in Islamabad have been de-sealed.

“Our main concern is that the Auqaf department Punjab might hand over the sealed mosques of Barelvi school of thought to the Deobani sect,” he added.

Mufti Naeemi said that Tanzeemat would soon hold talks with the Punjab government too and at the same time clerics would be asked not to get engaged in politics of violence, arson and anarchy.
