Pakistan and Russia are set to deepen cooperation in media, culture, and tourism as both countries move toward signing multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to formalise partnerships between their leading state media organisations.
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, discussions between Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert P. Khorev focused on finalising an MoU between the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Sputnik News Agency, as well as a collaboration agreement between PTV World and Russia’s RT (Russian Television).
The ambassador visited the office of the Information minister.Both sides also explored proposals for digital influencer and youth exchange programs under a public diplomacy initiative aimed at enhancing people-to-people ties.Minister Tarar highlighted that Pakistan and Russia enjoy “diplomatic relations based on mutual respect and trust,” adding that the government is committed to expanding cooperation across new areas of engagement.
Ambassador Khorev praised the natural beauty of Pakistan’s northern regions, describing them as “highly attractive for international tourists, including Russians.”
He expressed interest in promoting tourism partnerships and facilitating visits of Russian travelers to scenic destinations in Pakistan.
“Russia seeks to transform our bilateral relations into a practical and modern partnership, strengthening cooperation through media and cultural exchange,” the envoy added.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration in media, culture, and tourism, marking a new phase in Pakistan–Russia relations.
